Lawyer discipline can make or break a practice either because of the new required publication of disciplinary history or associated malpractice claims, or both.


Cooper Shattuck is well acquainted with the lawyer disciplinary process and procedure having served on Alabama State Bar Disciplinary Commission and the Disciplinary Board.  Through his service to the Alabama State Bar, he has routinely worked with the Alabama State Bar Office of General Counsel and has reviewed and decided a host of disciplinary matters ranging from simple infractions to disbarments.  As a result, he is a popular lecturer on attorney discipline, ethics, and professional responsibility.


Cooper is also one of the few Alabama attorneys who is a member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, an association of attorneys who provides advice and services in all aspects of legal ethics.


Cooper Shattuck represents lawyers in Alabama before the Alabama State Bar's disciplinay process in all matters involving lawyer discipline and violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct, from investigations to charges, consent orders, hearings and appeals, including but not limited to:
